This bear was made in England by the Canterbury Bear company and is signed on one bottom paw by the owners, John and Maude Blackburn. The other bottom paw has a number signifying this is No. 10 of 75 bears made. The back tags say the company name on one, and on the other it states SPECIAL LIMITED EDITION. The bear stands 13" tall and is fully jointed and easy to pose.

Canterbury Bears was founded in 1979 by the late John Blackburn MBE. Today, the business remains family run and together with a truly dedicated team we design and create beautiful handmade English bears.

All of their creations are designed and made in their workshops, situated in a small village close to the historic Cathedral City of Canterbury in Kent. The unwavering ethos of their family business is that they are 100% designed and handmade in England.

In 1987 they were granted the privilege of using the City of Canterbury coat of arms as their logo; this ancient marque is registered by the Garter King of Arms and dates from the 11th Century.
